Barnehurst is served quite well with buses and trains. The train station is situated in Barnehurst Road and is operated by Southeastern Trains. The station has step free access after a pathway was built via the Northall Road alleyway onto the London bound platform. The Dartford bound platform has always been accessible.

Barnehurst Train StationBuses are mostly run by London Central and offer good connections into Dartford and Bluewater and towards London.


There are regular train services from Barnehurst station either to London stations or to Dartford. Trains towards London go to Charing Cross, Victoria and Cannon Street, Mondays to Fridays. Charing Cross and Victoria on Saturdays and just Charing Cross on Sundays. All trains stop at Lewisham where you can connect to the Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

Trains to Dartford take about 7 minutes where you can change and head to Gravesend and Gillingham or up towards London on the Bexley or Erith lines.

The station is situated in Barnehurst Road and has a taxi office, disabled access via Northall Road/Station approach, a small shop, newspaper stall and shoe/watch menders.

The station gets very busy during the rush hour but much quieter at weekends and after 9.30am.

Bexleyheath offers many more bus services near the clock tower.

Night Buses

The N89 runs from Trafalagar Square to Barnehurst Station (Northall Road) starting at 23.50 until 04.50 (every 30 minutes). The journey takes around 1 hour and also runs to London starting from Erith.

Docklands Light Railway - DLR

The DLR runs from Lewisham to either Bank in Central London, Stratford in East London or to Beckton in East London. Most DLR trains will go through Docklands stations making it easy access for Canary Wharf and Westferry Circus.
